Abstract
This conclusion chapter of the book analyzes the systems that provide heating and domestic hot water for single-family and small multifamily houses exploiting two different renewable energy sources and using electricity as support. The book presents some facts and consideration for performance testing methods defining those labels. Based on these experiences within T44A38, the seasonal performance factor (SPF) was used as main energy performance figure. Hereby various system boundaries have been defined in order to calculate all relevant performance indicators and the several SPFs that can be defined. T44A38 has supported the understanding of the integration of solar thermal collectors and heat pump technology. The authors of this book hope that through the elaboration of information and results a valuable contribution could be given to the application of solar and heat pump systems on the international heating markets and be considered as a value-added step for further technological development.
