Abstract

The paper addresses the history of the Hindu Society of North America in Flushing,Queens, New York; in the framework of the development of Bowne Street over 15 years. This case study can demonstrate how some marginal urbanized and micro scale spaces of the city, named as “Sacred spaces in profane buildings” in the text, can become relevant for urban studies and planning policies.
