Abstract
Making the acquaintance of the transformative strategies of efficiency, sufficiency and consistency connected to an assignment that asks students to exemplify them related to design projects has become a fruitful core component of my course in Political Ecology within the Master of Eco-Social Design at the Free University of Bolzano. But what are the reasons for their inclusion into the curriculum? What to place at the centre? This question arises in contexts of sustainability education in general, as well as within particular transformation oriented teaching-learning networks, or for more specialised programs of eco-social design. It is well understood they have to concentrate on the mediation, exchange and further elaboration of both: knowledge and skills.
