A visual identity is made up of visual elements that, together, create an atmosphere around a client, reflecting its values and views of the world and society. This book investigates the working processes of visual identity projects, and their augmentation through machine learning. Through a deep focus on the creative process, it proposes how to integrate the designer’s perspective in the development of new digital tools, resulting in the playfully named conceptual framework, Steve.
The book reveals fruitful ways to augment identity design through machine learning, demonstrating that designers do not need to be replaced by automation.
