Abstract
As all sports, women’s football is in its essence and backgrounds political. The Women’s European Football Championships in England 2022 are no exception. They clearly manifest the different development patterns of Western and Central Eastern Europe. Dariusz Wojtaszyn and Roland Benedikter provide five reasons why Central Eastern European Women’s teams are lagging behind their Western counterparts and draw the perspective for policy.
