Abstract
Bold men set off on death-defying hunts, while caring women gather berries and look after the children - for a long time, archaeology and anthropology believed in this now disproved myth of a biologically based division of labour between hunters and gatherers. In research as well as in art, such gender stereotypes and role attributions persist: as with all things that demand a high social and financial position, patriarchal structures still dominate the scene today. But: there is hope!
