Abstract
This guide is about how to set up a basic IoT application relying on the LoRaWAN network of the NOI Techpark. It encompasses several tabs, which lead to the development of a working prototype transmitting data and getting feedback to/from the network. The first tab (Home) details the network architecture and its main components. The second tab, titled Platform, carries two examples on how to exploit Pycom or Arduino microcontroller boards to create a network end node. The Application tab explains how to consume the LoRaWAN API to create a basic IoT application, which takes decisions upon the data transmitted over the network. The last tab (Equipment), brings information on the possible ways to couple low-cost and general-purpose sensors with the end nodes.
These guidelines have been accomplished for the Vertical Innovation Hackathon 2018 at the NOI Techpark (16-17 November 2018) in order to allow the hackers developing their own IoT application for the challenge.
