Abstract
Corsican nationalist forces has achieved remarkable electoral success in recent elections. The assassination of Yvan Colonna, a Corsican nationalist convicted for the killing of Claude Érignac (French prefect in Corsica), has sparked social unrest and the protest of a wide section of Corsican nationalist public opinion. The 'Corsican issue' is far from being settled and it certainly deserves more attention. The article aims at offering a brief picture of the such recent events, against the background of Corsican history and annexation to France.
