Abstract
In this paper, we discuss how social value can be created through the use of new digital business models. We begin by discussing how social enterprises create social value and examine some of the common business models used in these special ventures. We then discuss how the ongoing digital transformation of business is making new digital business models common among more traditional ventures and go on to explore the potential for applying these new models to creating social value, the challenges that these new business models create for social entrepreneurs, and present some interesting examples of successful social enterprises that have been created using innovative digital business models.
