Abstract
Leuphana University Lueneburg has established a system of undergraduate education modeled on the Anglo-American notion of the liberal arts. As such, it is a unique institution of higher education in Germany, but is also an interesting case study in a broader European context. Undergraduate education at Leuphana University is organized under the roof of Leuphana College, which accompanies students throughout their bachelor education. To support the activities of the College, the university has organized various programs helping students to successfully complete and structure their education. This paper introduces the Leuphana model of undergraduate education as well as the support programs carried out by the Innovation Incubator, a project financed by the European Union, aiming at a further development of the College. An overview of current research projects focusing on this development is also provided.
